How to transfer

Start the transfer

Go to Settings → Company → Registered Agent and click Transfer to Pluvel.

Provide current agent info

Enter your current registered agent’s name and address so we know what to update.

We file the change

We file a Change of Registered Agent form with your state. You sign electronically.

State processes

The state updates your records. Timing varies (1-10 business days).

Transfer complete

You’re notified when complete. All future mail comes to us.

What happens to old mail

Mail sent to your old registered agent after the transfer:
  • Before state update — Old agent should forward to you
  • After state update — Mail comes to Pluvel
Notify your previous agent of the change. Some may continue forwarding mail; others won’t.

  1. Log in to LegalZoom and note your company details
  2. Start the transfer in Pluvel
  3. Cancel LegalZoom service after transfer completes

Northwest Registered Agent

  1. Northwest continues service until the state updates records
  2. They typically forward any mail received during transition
  3. Cancel after transfer completes

Incfile/ZenBusiness

  1. These services may auto-renew — check your renewal date
  2. Start transfer at least 30 days before renewal
  3. Cancel after transfer completes

Multi-state transfers

If you’re registered in multiple states:
  1. Transfer each state individually
  2. We file a change in each state
  3. Track progress for each in your dashboard

What you need

To complete the transfer:
  • Company name (exactly as registered)
  • State of formation
  • Current registered agent name and address
  • Authorization to make the change (you must be an owner/officer)

After the transfer

Once complete:
  1. Update any documents that list your old agent
  2. Notify important parties (banks, insurance) of address change if you used the agent address
  3. Cancel your previous agent service to avoid charges
