If you’re banking with Mercury, you’ve already made a good choice. Now make it better. The standard Plaid connection works, but our direct Mercury integration is faster and more reliable. Transactions appear in seconds instead of hours. You get your full account history from day one. And you’ll never need to re-authenticate because your password changed.

Why direct beats Plaid

FeaturePlaid connectionMercury direct
Sync speedEvery 6-12 hoursReal-time (seconds)
HistoryUp to 24 monthsFull history from day one
Transaction detailsStandardEnhanced (memos, attachments)
Balance updatesHourlyReal-time
ReliabilityOccasional re-authenticationAlways connected
The difference is especially noticeable if you process a lot of transactions. Waiting hours for them to show up gets old.

Connecting Mercury

3

Click Connect

5

Select accounts

Choose which Mercury accounts to sync.
The whole process takes about a minute.

What syncs

DataWhat you get
TransactionsAll transactions with memos and attachments
BalancesReal-time available and pending
Account infoAccount names and types
PendingPending transactions shown separately
You see everything that Mercury sees, as soon as Mercury sees it.

Real-time updates

Mercury sends updates instantly via webhooks:
  • New transactions appear within seconds
  • Balance changes reflect immediately
  • Pending transactions show as they happen
Your Pluvel dashboard always shows current data. No more checking Mercury to see if something cleared.

Multiple accounts

If you have multiple Mercury accounts (checking, savings, treasury):
  • Select each during authorization
  • Each syncs independently
  • View them separately or combined
Treasury accounts work too.

Already connected via Plaid?

If you connected Mercury through Plaid before:
  1. Connect via the direct integration (above)
  2. Disconnect the Plaid connection for Mercury
  3. Direct integration takes over
Historical data from both connections is preserved — you won’t lose anything.

Managing the connection

Check status

Go to Settings → Integrations → Mercury to see:
  • Connection status
  • Last sync time (should be very recent)
  • Connected accounts
  • Any errors (rare)

Adding new accounts

Opened a new Mercury account? Click Refresh to detect it.

Disconnecting

To disconnect:
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Mercury
  2. Click Manage → Disconnect
Data already synced stays in Pluvel. You’re just stopping future syncs.
