Mercury is a business bank built for startups. If you’re already banking there, you’ll want to use our direct integration instead of connecting through Plaid. The difference? Real-time transaction sync instead of every 6-12 hours. Full transaction history instead of just 24 months. And connections that don’t randomly disconnect and ask you to re-authenticate.

Connect Mercury

1

Find the integration

Go to Settings → Integrations and find Mercury in the Banking section.
2

Start the connection

Click Connect to begin the OAuth flow.
3

Authorize in Mercury

You’ll be redirected to Mercury. Log in and authorize Pluvel to access your account data.
4

Select accounts

Choose which Mercury accounts to sync — checking, savings, and credit cards.
5

Watch it sync

We import your full transaction history. Usually takes a few minutes depending on how much history you have.
Already connected Mercury through Plaid? Disconnect that first, then set up the direct integration for better sync.

What syncs

DataDetails
TransactionsAll transactions with full details, memos, and attachments
BalancesReal-time available and pending balances
Account infoAccount names, masked numbers, types
Pending transactionsTransactions that haven’t settled yet

Real-time means real-time

Unlike Plaid connections that sync every few hours, Mercury sends us updates instantly via webhooks:
  • New transactions appear within seconds
  • Balance changes reflect immediately
  • Pending transactions show as they happen
Your Pluvel dashboard always shows your actual current cash position. No more wondering if that big payment went through yet.

Better transaction data

Mercury provides richer information than standard bank feeds:
  • Cleaner merchant names — Not cryptic strings like “SQ *COFFEE SHOP”
  • Memos — Any notes you added in Mercury sync over
  • Attachments — Receipts you uploaded in Mercury appear in Pluvel
  • Categories — Mercury’s categorization (which you can override)

Multiple accounts

If you have multiple Mercury accounts:
  • Connect them all during the authorization flow
  • Each account appears separately in Pluvel
  • Categorize and reconcile each independently

Treasury accounts

Mercury Treasury accounts (for earning yield on idle cash) are fully supported. They appear as separate accounts and sync just like checking.

Managing the connection

Check sync status

Go to Settings → Integrations → Mercury. You’ll see:
  • Connection status
  • Last sync time
  • Connected accounts
  • Any errors

Add new accounts

If you opened new Mercury accounts after connecting, click Refresh in integration settings to detect them.

Disconnect

To disconnect:
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Mercury
  2. Click Manage → Disconnect
This stops syncing but keeps all imported transactions.

Common issues

With real-time sync, transactions should appear within seconds. If they’re not:
  1. Check if the transaction shows in Mercury
  2. Verify the correct account is connected
  3. Click Sync Now
  4. Check for error messages in integration settings
This happens if you changed your Mercury password or revoked access. Click Reconnect and authorize again.
Accounts opened after you connected don’t appear automatically. Click Refresh in integration settings to detect them.
If you had Mercury connected via Plaid and switched to the direct integration, you might see duplicates. Disconnect the Plaid connection to stop it. Mark existing duplicates as duplicates in your transaction feed.

Switching from Plaid

If you connected Mercury through Plaid and want to switch:
  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Mercury and connect the direct integration
  2. Go to Settings → Banking and disconnect the Plaid connection for Mercury
  3. New transactions will come through the direct integration
Historical transactions from both connections are preserved — you won’t lose anything.
